Jocelyn Pook

Jocelyn Pook (born February 14, 1960 in Birmingham ) is an English composer and violinist .

Life

After graduating from London's Guildhall School of Music and Drama , she performed with numerous pop musicians, including The Communards , Massive Attack and Peter Gabriel , and founded Electra Strings , for which she composed material. She has worked frequently with major dance groups such as DV8 and Shobana Jeyasingh . Important films are Michael Radford's version of The Merchant of Venice and Stanley Kubrick's last film Eyes Wide Shut .

In 2017 she was accepted into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), which awards the Oscars every year.
