Jochen Blum
Jochen Blum (born January 22, 1959 in Ludwigshafen ) is a German specialist in surgery and trauma surgery , professor of music physiology and specialist author.
Career and work
Blum first learned the craft of violin maker in Siena , where he then studied medicine. Other places of study were Mainz , Boston and London . He received his doctorate from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz in the field of neurosurgery , where he received his habilitation in the field of traumatological biomechanics . In addition, Blum was initially the executive senior physician at the University Medical Center at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz . Since 1995 Blum has been an adjunct professor for music physiology and musicians' medicine at the University of Music and Performing Arts . Furthermore, Blum is an adjunct professor for trauma and hand surgery at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz.
Blum is the chief physician and transit physician for trauma surgery at the Worms Clinic . In June 2016 he was appointed to the advisory board of the “Mainz Trauma Foundation” as a medical expert, which, under the umbrella of the Johannes Gutenberg University Foundation, promotes medical research in the field of geriatric traumatology as a newly established trust foundation . As an author or co-author, he created more than 120 scientific publications, including on music physiology and musicians' medicine.
