Jochen Hoffbauer

Jochen Hoffbauer (born March 10, 1923 in Geppersdorf near Liebenthal , Löwenberg district in Silesia , † August 17, 2006 in Kassel - Harleshausen ) was a German writer , novelist, radio author and poet .

Life

Jochen Hoffbauer was born in Geppersdorf in 1923 and grew up in nearby Greifenberg from 1929. Drafted into the Wehrmacht in 1941, he was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge in 1944 , but returned to Silesia in 1945 after the end of the war, where he experienced the occupation with his wife. They came to Hessen through the expulsion of the German population . Jochen Hoffbauer found work as a claims officer for an insurance company and settled in Kassel-Harleshausen.

Honors

Jochen Hoffbauer was awarded the Eichendorff literary prize of the Wangener Kreis in 1963 , the radio play prize of the East German Cultural Council Foundation and the radio play prize of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia in 1970 and the media prize of the Federation of Expellees, Bavaria, in 1986.
