Joseph "Joe" Murphy (born January 27, 1975 in Didsbury , Alberta ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player who worked for the Frankfurt Lions in the German Ice Hockey League and Lukko Rauma in the Finnish SM-liiga during his career from 1995 to 2005 played.

Career

Murphy began his career as a hockey player in the team of the University of Denver , for which he was active from 1995 to 1999 in the National Collegiate Athletic Association .

He then made his professional debut for the Huntsville Channel Cats of the Central Hockey League in the playoffs of the 1998/99 season , before getting a contract with the Rochester Americans . For the Americans he ran the following two seasons in the American Hockey League , with the attacker also being on the ice in 34 games for Roanoke Express from the East Coast Hockey League in the 1999/2000 season . After one season each at the two AHL clubs Grand Rapids Griffins and Binghamton Senators , Murphy moved to Europe for the 2003/04 season , where he was committed by Lukko Rauma from the Finnish SM-liiga . He left the team after only one season to play for the reigning German champions Frankfurt Lions , for whom he also played two games in the IIHF European Champions Cup in the 2004/05 season , where he after the season at the age of only 30 Years ended his career.
