Joey D. Newman (born September 9, 1976 in Santa Monica , California ) is an American composer .

biography

Joey Newman was born into a musical family. He is the son of Joe Frank Carollo, a member of Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds , and ballerina Jennifer Newman. His maternal grandfather is the composer Lionel Newman . He is also the great-nephew of Alfred Newman and nephew of Randy , David and Thomas Newman . In his childhood he learned drums, piano and sang in the children's choir of the Los Angeles Master Chorale . He later studied music at Berklee College of Music . He then moved to Los Angeles , where he worked for WG Snuffy Walden and composed for series such as Again with Feeling and Providence . After further film and series compositions, Newman is currently responsible for the music for the television series The Middle .
