Johan Gotthardt Olsen (born March 25, 1969 in Østerbro , Copenhagen ) is a Danish singer and biologist .

Career

Olsen studied at the University of Copenhagen and together with a few other students founded the band Magtens Korridorer in 1995 , one of the most successful Danish rock bands. With the band, Olsen released six studio albums, two of which went platinum in Denmark . In 2006 the band received the award for the best new band at the Danish Music Awards . In addition, he appeared several times as a guest singer, including for Red Warszawa , Revoltage , LOC and Sonja Hald .

Outside of his home country, Johan Olsen was best known for his collaboration with the band Volbeat . In 2007 he sang the song The Garden's Tale and nine years later he sang a duet with For evigt with Volbeat singer Michael Schøn Poulsen , where Poulsen sang in English and Olsen in Danish .

Olsen is a Ph.D. in molecular biology and works as a protein crystallographer at the University of Copenhagen . He is married and has four kids.
