The Garden's Tale is the fourth single from the Danish heavy metal band Volbeat . It is the second single from their second studio album Rock the Rebel / Metal the Devil .

Emergence

The song was recorded in October 2006 at Hansen Studios in the Danish city of Ribe . Text and music were written by singer and guitarist Michael Poulsen . The album was produced by Jacob Hansen . Johan Olsen from the Danish band Magtens Korridorer performed as a guest musician .

Poulsen and Olsen met at the Steppeulv Awards. Both musicians were nominated in the same category. It turned out that both musicians like each other's music. In an interview, Poulsen stated that when he was composing the song "The Garden's Tale", Olsen's voice was buzzing through his head. Poulsen wrote a text that is partly in English , but partly in Danish . Olsen immediately agreed and sang his lyrics in the studio.

A music video was shot for the song , which MTV Denmark included in the "Heavy Rotation". The single contains the title song in a shortened radio version and in the regular album version.

reception

The single entered the Danish single charts at number 18, which was also the highest ranking. In total, the single stayed in the Danish charts for eight weeks, with the single returning to the charts three times. The single went platinum in Denmark . The listeners of the Danish radio station P3 chose the song as their favorite song and Volbeat was awarded a P3 Guld Prize.
