Heaven Nor Hell is a song by the Danish metal band Volbeat from 2010. It was released as the second single from their fourth studio album Beyond Hell / Above Heaven .
Emergence
Heaven Nor Hell was recorded in spring 2010 at Hansen Studios in Ribe , Denmark . Text and music were provided by singer and guitarist Michael Schøn Poulsen . The entire album was produced by Jacob Hansen , who also contributed background vocals. Hansen also plays guitar and tambourine . The Danish songwriter Henrik Hall plays the harmonica . The official video was shot at Tempelhof Airport in Berlin .
The song is about a man who sold his soul to the devil and then stole it back. The man does not believe in heaven and hell because he saw the devil become an angel and vice versa. He fights with his inner demons .

On November 10, 2010 Heaven Nor Hell appeared as the second track on the album Beyond Hell / Above Heaven . After falling , the song is the second single from the album. The single contains the title song in the album and the slightly shorter single version as well as a live recording of the song Caroline Leaving , which was recorded in the Dutch city of Tilburg . The single was released on December 1, 2010 by Vertigo Records as a digipak and 7 ″ single .

Frank Albrecht from the German magazine Rock Hard described Heaven Nor Hell as a " Goodtime hit man who cuts his way into the cerebellum ". Reviewer Stefan Popp from the online magazine Metal1.info described Heaven Nor Hell as a potential hit with catchy melodies and choruses. Robert Fröwein from the online magazine stormbringer.at described the song as "almost kitschy for radio". The single reached number 20 on the Danish single charts.
The readers of the German magazine Metal Hammer voted Heaven Nor Hell seventh in the category Best Song of 2010.
