For evigt ( Danish for forever ) is a song by the Danish metal band Volbeat . It is the second single from their sixth studio album, Seal the Deal & Let's Boogie .
Emergence
The song was written by singer Michael Schøn Poulsen . The recordings took place under the direction of producer Jacob Hansen in the Hansen Studios in Ribe , Denmark . According to Michael Schøn Poulsen, the song is about remembering the good things in life and celebrating them. Nobody knows if it will continue like this. The chorus of the song For evigt is in Danish. The singer Johan Olsen from the band Magtens Korridorer appears as a guest singer.
In 2007 Olsen was a guest singer on the song The Garden's Tale , the text of which contains the words "For evigt". Another guest musician is Rod Sinclair, who plays banjo on the song . The same song was also recorded with a chorus in English called The Bliss , which appeared on the limited edition version of the album Seal the Deal & Let's Boogie .

For Frank Thiessies from the German magazine Metal Hammer , the Danish language and the almost operetta-like singing make up the mid-tempo rocker. Through the use of the banjo and the harmonious background chants, the song is grouped folklorically in the style of Mumford & Sons . The single reached number three in the Danish, number 62 in the Austrian and number 70 in the German single charts. In Denmark, the single went platinum in August 2016 , double platinum in January 2017 and triple platinum in January 2018.
The Danish music magazine Gaffa chose For evigt as Danish hit of the year 2016. Also, the handset of the Danish radio station chose DR P3 For evigt to their favorite song, for which the band with the price P3 Guld award. The readers of the German magazine Metal Hammer, in turn, voted For evigt the third worst rock song of 2016.
