Rob Caggiano (born November 7, 1976 , Bronx , New York City ) is an American guitarist , sound engineer and record producer . He was part of the line- up of the thrash metal band Anthrax from 2001 to early 2013 with interruptions . In early February 2013 he was officially introduced as the guitarist of the band Volbeat .

biography

Caggiano was born and raised in New York City. He started playing guitar and drums at the age of nine and later focused exclusively on playing the guitar. In 1996 he was one of the founders of the nu-metal band Boiler Room , with whom he recorded and released the album Can't Breathe in 2000 . The band broke up in 2001. At the same time Anthrax was looking for a second guitarist. Caggiano, who had known the band members for a long time, applied for the post and was hired after an audition. Since the beginning of the 2000s, Caggiano and Eddie Wohl have formed the Scrap 60 production team and run their own recording studio . Some of the most famous bands whose albums he produced include Cradle of Filth and Bleeding Through . Caggiano also worked as a sound engineer on tours for bands such as Motörhead and Judas Priest . In 2011 he produced the song Forgive me Father (I am in Trance) on the Cradle of Filth EP Evermore Darkly.

In February 2013 the Danish band Volbeat introduced Caggiano as a new guitarist. He takes the position of former guitarist Thomas Bredahl , which has not been permanently occupied since the end of 2011 .

Caggiano is unmarried, has no children and lives in Los Angeles .
