Penikufesin is an extended play by the American thrash metal band Anthrax . It was released in August 1989 via Island Records exclusively in Europe and Japan. In addition to a song from the State of Euphoria album, it only contains cover versions .
History of origin
During the sessions of State of Euphoria , the band recorded various cover versions , which were released in August 1989 in Europe and Japan as EP Penikufesin . The EP starts with the album version of Now It's Dark . The songs Antisocial and Sects come from the French rock band Trust . The band sings the original French text for Antisocial . The piece Friggin 'in the Riggin' is an English drinking song that soldiers brought to the USA after the First World War , the original title is Good Ship Venus . The basis for the version of Anthrax is the version published by Steve Jones with the Sex Pistols in 1979. The piece Parasite comes from Kiss and their 1974 plate was a second title Hotter Than Hell published.
The final piece, Pipeline, is an instrumental , written by Brian Carman and Bob Spickard, and first recorded by The Chantays in 1963. At the Attack of the Killer B’s , Anthrax declared to have been influenced by a version of The Ventures , which was released (also in 1963) on their album Surfing .
The title of the EP is a corruption from Nice fucking EP to Nise fukin EP (read backwards). The title is based on the piece Efilnikufesin (NFL) (there: Nice fucking life ) from the album Among the Living .
In the USA, the songs Parasite , Sects and Pipeline were first published on the 1991 compilation Attack of the Killer B’s .
