Emergence

The song was recorded in spring 2010 at Hansen Studios in the Danish city of Ribe . The lyrics and music were written by singer and guitarist Michael Schøn Poulsen . The album was produced by Jacob Hansen , who also contributed background vocals. A music video was shot for the song , which largely contains recordings from Volbeat's performance at the Rock am Ring music festival in June 2010.

Michael Schøn Poulsen dedicated the song to his father, who died in June 2008.

“He has accompanied and supported me throughout my musical career. I also played each of my compositions for him and asked his opinion. [...] But in life there is always light and shadow, because on the other hand I got to know the love of my life and got married. "
