Beat the Meat is the second demo by the Danish metal band Volbeat .
Emergence
The demo was recorded in the summer of 2003 at Hansen Studios in the Danish city of Ribe . Was produced Beat the Meat of Jacob Hansen , who was in the following years to the root producer of the band. All lyrics were written by singer Michael Poulsen , who also wrote most of the music. Only with Alienized the music comes from Poulsen and the drummer Jon Larsen.
All titles were re-recorded and published on the first two studio albums under partly different names. On the debut album The Strength / The Sound / The Songs are Pool of Booze (as Pool of Booze, Booze, Booza ), Soulweeper , Another Day (as Another Day, Another Way ), Danny & Lucy (as Danny & Lucy (11pm) ) and Alienized . The song Boa was re-released as Boa (JDM) on the second album Rock the Rebel / Metal the Devil .

reception
The German magazines Metal Hammer and Heavy or what? chose Beat the Meat as the demo of the month. About a thousand copies of the demo had been sold by summer 2005. David Gregori from the online magazine Metal.de awarded "six catchy guarantees" and described the demo as a huge hammer to another whiz lets hope from Denmark. Gregori rated Beat the Meat nine out of ten. The Danish online magazine Power of Metal described Volbeat as the interface between Elvis Presley and Life of Agony , but criticized the many errors in the texts. Nevertheless, Beat the Meat was rated 90 out of 100 points.
