Johan van der Bilt (Johannes Franciscus Willebrordus van der Bilt, born November 7, 1882 in Amsterdam , † December 19, 1943 in New York ) was a Dutch landscape painter. He also created wall paintings and designed tapestries.

Johan van der Bilt studied at the Amsterdam Koninklijke Akademie van Beeldende Kunsten and from 1915 at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris with Fernand Sabatté . He then settled in Antwerp as a freelance painter and made study trips to southern Europe and North Africa from there. In addition to the paintings, Van der Bilt also made monumental wall paintings, including a. 1938 in the St. Nicholas Church in Amsterdam , and designed tapestries. At the end of the 1930s he moved to the United States and designed carpets in a carpet weaving mill.

In 1930 he was awarded the Prijs van de Teekenschool Quellinus. He exhibited his works in 1914 and 1924 at the Paris Salon des Indépendants .
