Johann Andreas Christian Löhr

Johann Andreas Christian Löhr , pseudonyms : JCF Müller , Karl Friedrich Schmidt , Eduard Wild and Philadelphus Alethes , (born May 18, 1764 in Halberstadt ; † June 28, 1823 in Zwenkau ) was a German Protestant theologian , youth and educational writer.

Life

Löhr, son of a non-commissioned officer, who was transferred from Halberstadt to Wernigerode as gatekeeper in 1768 , attended the Lyceum from 1776 to 1782. He then studied medicine at the University of Halle . Due to increasing costs, he turned to theology studies .

He became a teacher at the orphanage in Halle (Saale) and also gave private lessons. He worked as a preacher in Delitz am Berge and Dörstewitz, from 1793 in the suburb of Altenburg near Merseburg and finally as a pastor in Zwenkau.

Löhr wrote 49 books, including numerous for children, and two essays, e.g. B .:
