Johann Baptist Scherer

Johann Baptist Scherer (often Baptist Scherer , born March 15, 1869 in Hamburg-Altona , † January 22, 1910 in Kassel ) was a German painter and draftsman.

Life

Born the son of a tax council, he studied in Paris at the Académie Julian and from October 13, 1888 at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich in the nature class with Gabriel von Hackl .

In 1896, Scherer made a drawing for the text "Nina Riviera or The Man with a Heavy Heart" by Donald Lenzelin Wedekind for the magazine Simplicissimus , he also illustrated books.

He spent the period from February 1896 to October 1898 in Neubeu Castle , where he left an entry in the guest book. He died at the age of 40.
