Johann Bernhard von Wintgen

Johann Bernhard Josef von Wintgen (born January 18, 1684 in Münster ; † July 4, 1728 there ) was a German land rent master and councilor in Münster.

Life

It is very likely that the Wintgen family came from the Ahaus area , where their marriage groups and property were located in the 16th century. The Catholic family members were active in the sovereign administrative or military service. Johann Bernhard von Wintgen was born the son of Gerhard Heinrich von Wintgen and his wife Johanna Anna Magdalena von Büren (1653–1708). His brother Paul Josef (1687–1731) was a subdeacon at the Old Cathedral in Münster . In 1701 he matriculated at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen and completed his studies. 1707 he became both the Landrentmeister and the Councilor appointed. Johann Bernhard was the regular owner. In 1707 he married Richardis Maria Wendelina von der Heyden zu Meynerswyck (1686–1747). Through the inheritance of his in-laws, he came into possession of goods in Zytphen (Gut Emmergriet or Broickhusen and the heirs of Mylinck and Sligtkamp). This enabled the property created by his father to be expanded considerably. His son Franz Anton and his grandson Anton invested their money in land ownership. The latter bought Haus Ermelinghof , the family seat , in 1788 .
