occupation

Corbin Nash (also: Corbin Nash - The dark side knows its name ) is a British - American vampire film directed by Ben Jagger from 2018 .

action

Corbin Nash is investigating a major kidnapping case in Los Angeles . During his research, a stranger reveals to him that his father, a successful baseball player, and his mother were actually vampire hunters. He dismisses the talk as nonsense at first.

During his research he comes across the dissimilar vampire couple, the drag queen Queeny and her partner Vince. These overwhelm him and force him to live and die in illegal MMA fights. The loser is abused as a source of food by the vampire community. When he refuses to kill his friend Darius, he is transformed and left to die in the streets.

But Corbin is saved and nursed back to health by the striptease dancer Macy. However, Queeny and Vince find him. He manages to escape, but the two kidnap Macy. So Corbin goes in search of her and puts the two in a showdown, during which he manages to stake both vampires with his father's baseball bat.

The vampires have a new enemy. He is now looking for the murderers of his parents.

background

Dean Jagger, brother of director Ben Jagger, wrote the screenplay, was one of the producers of the film and played the lead role. The producers were able to hire a few B-movie stars from the 1980s for supporting roles, including Rutger Hauer in one of his last roles, and Malcolm McDowell . Corey Feldman took on the role as a vampire transvestite and stayed " in character " throughout the production .

In Germany, the film was initially released on video on demand channels such as Amazon Video and Netzkino , and a Blu-ray has been announced for August 30, 2019 . Despite some splatter scenes , the film was released in Germany in full.

Reviews

Asokan Nirmalarajah from the Filmstarts.de editorial team rated the film as "disappointing". Nirmalarajah drew the following conclusion: "Corbin Nash is a dark, neon- lit vampire horror actioner who suffers greatly from his meager budget and the explanatory and yet mostly nonsensical endless dialogues."
