Bruce Davison (born June 28, 1946 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania ) is an American actor .

Life

Davison made his acting debut in 1969 in the film Petting . In 1991, he was nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of David in Norman René's AIDS drama Friendship for Life . Davison has also starred in films such as The Judgment , Crazy / Beautiful , Short Cuts , Summer Catch , X-Men and The Model Student . In addition to his work as a film actor, he also took part in various television series , including Stephen King's Kingdom Hospital , The Waltons , Seinfeld , Chicago Hope - Endstation Hope , JAG - On behalf of Honor , Practice - The Lawyers and Numbers - The Logic of Crime .
