Bigfoot - the legend lives on! (Original and alternate title: Bigfoot ) is an American horror film by Bruce Davison from 2012. The television film comes from the production company The Asylum and was shot for the US television station Syfy .

action

In Deadwood , South Dakota near Mount Rushmore National Memorial , rumors exist of the legendary figure Bigfoot . The resourceful radio host Harley Henderson is planning a rock concert with 1980s rock and pop and has parts of the national park cut down for it. Against this, his former bandmate Simon Quint, who is now known as a conservation activist, protests. Harley deceives Simon by promising him one appearance at the festival where he could present his request. During the second song, however, he mutes it and lets Alice Cooper perform instead . The hard rock makes the five meter tall Bigfoot wild. He destroys the festival area and kills the audience and also Alice Cooper.

The National Guard is then alerted. However, Harley sets out to catch the creature himself and hires a team of mercenaries. Simon is after Bigfoot too. He wants to help the creature and stun it.

After a series of deaths, the showdown finally takes place at the Mount Rushmore National Memorial. Harley and Quint beat up on the mountain top. In an air raid, they fall down with the monster and die.

A year later, Mayor Tom Gillis opened both the rebuilt monument and a statue of the two brawlers.

background

The film aired on June 30, 2012 on Syfy in the United States and was later released on DVD and Blu-Ray. In Germany, the film has been approved by the FSK from the age of 12. However, since the trailer material of the image carriers was released from the age of 16, DVD and Blu-Ray were also released from the age of 16.

Reviews

As with most of the works by the production company The Asylum, it is a trash film that was made on a small budget. Accordingly, he was largely ignored by the criticism.
