action

The blind masseur Virgil Adamson ( Val Kilmer ) works in a resort. There he met the New York architect Amy Benic ( Mira Sorvino ). She persuades him to seek medical treatment after which Adamson can see again.

Adamson and Benic have a relationship that is being put to the test. Amy is harassed by her boss, who she was previously married to. Adamson learns he is about to go blind again.

Roger Ebert compared the film in the Chicago Sun-Times of January 15, 1999 with the film Time of Awakening starring Robert De Niro and Robin Williams .

TV Today 12/1999 called the film cheesy and criticized the portrayal of Val Kilmer, praising Kelly McGillis and Nathan Lane. TV Movie 12/1999 criticized the film as naive , but praised the actors.

The German Film and Media Evaluation FBW in Wiesbaden awarded the film the title valuable.
