Franz Anton von Wintgen (baptismal name: Franz Anton Bernhard von Wintgen) (born March 12, 1710 in Münster ; † June 22, 1763 ibid) was land rent master and treasurer.

Life

It is very likely that the Wintgen family came from the Ahaus area , where their marriage groups and property were located in the 16th century. The Catholic family members were active in the sovereign administrative or military service. Franz Anton von Wintgen was born as the son of Johann Bernhard von Wintgen and his wife Richardis Maria Wendelina von der Heyden zu Meynerswyck (1686–1747). His grandfather, Gerhard Heinrich , had gained a considerable amount of property through his marriage to Johanna Anna von Büren and invested his money in the purchase of real estate. Franz Anton's father acquired his in-laws in the county of Zutphen through his marriage. It was the Emmergriet estate. With that, the family's possessions had grown considerably. On January 31, 1744, Franz Anton married Maria Theresia von Elmendorff zu Füchtel (1715–1783). The children Anton (⚭ 1775 Anna Bernhardine von Korff called Schmising ), Maria Johanna (⚭ 1767 Johann Adolf von Boetmar) and Antonetta (⚭ 1769 Fritz von Plettenberg ) emerged from the marriage. The appointment as land rent master fell in 1728. Franz Anton was also a treasurer . Like his ancestors before, Franz Anton invested his money in land ownership. He and his son Anton bought the Telgte house from Clemens August von Droste zu Hülshoff in 1757 . In 1787 Anton increased his fortune by buying the manor Haus Ermelinghof . His son Franz Otto remained without male descendants. His heir daughter married Baron Josef von Twickel in 1840 . In this year the manor passed into the possession of the Twickel family.
