Johann Christian Friedrich Patzig

Johann Christian Friedrich Patzig (born February 2, 1774 in Berlin ; † June 3, 1840 there ) was a German lawyer and civil servant.

Life

Johann Christian Friedrich Patzig received his first school education from private tutors and later attended the Realschule in Berlin and then the Werdersche Gymnasium .

At Easter 1793 he began to study law at the University of Halle and passed his first legal examination in 1795 .

On May 5, 1795 he began as an auscultator at the Berlin City Court, was appointed trainee lawyer at the same City Court in 1796 and at the same time at the Guardianship Deputation, the later Guardianship Court , of the Berlin magistrate .

Before taking his third exam, he was unanimously appointed City Court Assessor by the magistrate . The election was confirmed with reservations by the Grand Chancellor Heinrich Julius von Goldbeck . After passing the exam, he was finally appointed City Court Assessor in 1799. In the same year, the magistrate elected him to the city council , which meant that he was only allowed to perform his duties at the guardianship deputation if he left the judicial service and only dealt with city tasks. In 1804 he was elected the second town councilor.

In 1816 he was appointed to the council in the newly created government district of Berlin and in 1822 he was appointed first councilor of the general office and deputy chief of police, shortly afterwards he was promoted to the secret government council .

Johann Christian Friedrich Patzig was married.

Awards

In 1832 he was by the King Friedrich Wilhelm III. Awarded the Order of the Red Eagle, 3rd class, some time later he was also given "the ribbon".
