Johann Christian Ludwig hook

Johann Christian Ludwig Haken (born March 28, 1767 in Jamund near Köslin , † June 5, 1835 ) was a German Protestant pastor and writer.

Life and accomplishments

Hook, son of the Jamund pastor Christian Wilhelm Haken , grew up in a boarding school in Aschersleben . From 1785 he studied theology at the University of Halle . In 1788 he first became a teacher at the cadet house in Stolp .

Then, like his father, Haken became a pastor. In 1793 first in Konikow near Köslin , then from 1800 in Symbow near Stolp. In 1817 he became superintendent in Treptow at Rega .

Hook wrote historical writings and works of fiction. The autobiography of Joachim Nettelbeck (1738–1824), the defender of Kolberg , published by him , is still published today. In Treptow, Haken founded the Pomeranian Provincial Papers .
