Johann Christoph David von Leger

Johann Christoph David Leger , from 1841 von Leger (born October 3, 1701 in Veitsweiler ; † August 27, 1791 in Ludwigsburg ) was a Württemberg builder and architect .

Life

Leger came to the Württemberg court at the age of about 20 and was a student of the Italian builder Donato Giuseppe Frisoni from 1721 to 1727 , who was in charge of the expansion of the residence in Ludwigsburg. Leger trained in architecture in Rome and Paris. In 1731 he was appointed ducal builder and in 1742 major and chief building director. In 1735 he was a member of the Ludwigsburg building deputation and head of the management of the barracks. Karl Friedrich von Württemberg made him head of agriculture in 1742. At the end of the 1740s he was also involved in the construction of the Stuttgart Residence. He died in 1791 as a retired major general.

Awards

In 1741 Leger was raised to the nobility.
