Johann Conrad Buchau
Johann Conrad Buchau , also Hans Conrad Buchau (* before 1682 in Dresden , † after 1703 in Görlitz ) was a German architect and sculptor .
Life
Johann Conrad Buchau was a cousin of Abraham Conrad Buchau . He received training and in family sculpture in Dresden, where he then worked as an employee. Around 1680 he moved to Görlitz. On October 8, 1689, the city of Görlitz granted him citizenship. He worked as an architect in Stolberg Castle in the Harz Mountains . Buchau created the stairwell there and precisely defined the artistic line and the decoration with sculptures. He left other works in Görlitz, Kohlfurt and Naumburg am Queis .
