Johann Doekel

Johann Dossekel (born August 2, 1789 in Seon ; † January 26, 1853 there ) was a Swiss politician , notary and judge . From 1848 to 1849 he was a member of the National Council.

biography

The son of the carpenter and community Ammann of Seon studied without secondary education law at the Academy in Bern and received in 1812 the notary. He compensated for his lack of basic training autodidactically, and due to his good reputation he was also admitted to the bar in 1828. From 1838 to 1841 he was a judge at the Aargau Higher Court .

In 1831 Dolekel was elected to the Grand Council of the Canton of Aargau , to which he belonged for over two decades. He ran in the first National Council elections in October 1848 and made the election in the second round. Dossekel joined the free-thinking group, but had to resign after a few months for health reasons. He also gave up his notarial and legal practice and remained a councilor until 1851.
