Johann Dietrich
Johann Dietrich (* 1716 ; † 1758 ) was a German organ builder and mechanic who had his organ workshop in Merseburg in the middle of the 18th century .
Life
Johann Dietrich learned organ building from Johann Ernst Hähnel . When he was supposed to build a Rückpositiv instead of the rear work in Merseburg in 1742, Zacharias Hildebrandt was asked for an expert opinion on Dietrich's disposition draft.
In the run-up to the organ building in Gollma (1743), the Gollmaer pastor Dietrich defended voices who wanted to discredit him as a “carpenter”: “It is anden that someone from Merseburg, he is now a carpenter, or a Organ builder, who learned ex professo what he claims to be, reported to the building of the Gollmische church organ ... “Dietrich received the order and confirmed a deposit after six days. When the organ was accepted, it was found that more stops than agreed were made of wood instead of tin.
On August 15, 1753, Dietrich complained to the Merseburg Consistory that, because of the “maliciously” criticism of the organ in Oberbeuna, “all of the organ buildings that occurred in the local monastery were left to foreign organ builders, at a high cost from the churches, but to me, as I did At present here, I have to pay taxes and gifts from my profession, and can hardly subsist for the length of time with wife and children, to withdraw ”. The consistory then released Dietrich to have his organs in Oberbeuna and Ermlitz inspected by experts at his own expense and to have their reports submitted to the office, which, however, did not take place.
His son JC Dietrich was pastor in the Schkeitbar church from 1775 and in 1788 he had a decisive influence on the planning of the new organ by Johann Gottfried Krug .
