Johann Edmund von Wachtendonk (* around 1690 ; † November 11, 1759 ) was canon in Münster and Osnabrück .

Life

Origin and family

Johann Edmund von Wachtendonk came from the old Geldrischen noble family of the Lords of Wachtendonk and was the son of Hermann Adrian von Wachtendonk (1666-1702) and his wife Anna Maria von Weichs zu Rösberg (1667-1706). His brother Hermann Arnold (1694–1768) was the Electoral Palatinate Conference Minister . Johann's uncle Karl Franz von Wachtendonk was canon.

Career and work

In 1726 Johann Edmund received a cathedral priest in Münster through papal approval . In the same year it came into the possession of a prebende from Osnabrück . Initially residing in Osnabrück, he resigned in 1728 and moved to Münster. Here he belonged to the Plettenberg party . In 1732 Johann Edmund was given the cathedral scholasterei in Osnabrück by Elector Clemens August . He was a subdeacon and owned a cathedral canonical in Liège as well as the Obedience of Senden and the Oblegium Subcelleraria.
