Johann Friedrich Alexander Thiele (born August 6, 1747 in Dresden ; † March 6, 1803 there ) was a German landscape painter and etcher . The son of Johann Alexander Thiele (1685–1752) also called himself "Friedrich Thiele" to distinguish himself from his father.

Live and act

Thiele received his artistic training from Charles Hutin in Dresden, the first director of the Dresden Art Academy , and with electoral support from Joseph Roos in Vienna .

In 1798 Thiele received the position of an inspector at the Dresden Art Academy and that of a drawing master at the local police school.

Thiele's landscape paintings mainly show motifs from the Dresden area.
