Johann Friedrich Brandt (* 1714 in Lübeck ; † April 18, 1777 ibid) was a German merchant and councilor of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck.

Life

His father belonged to the office of brewers in Lübeck. In 1728 Brandt started as an apprentice in the trading business of the businessman Heinrich Woldt, who was a brother of the Lübeck councilor Hermann Woldt . In 1750 he started his own business as a businessman together with his brother-in-law Heinrich Ladehoff in Lübeck. As a businessman he belonged to the college of the Skåne drivers and was a member of various civil committees for them. In 1772 he was elected to the Lübeck council. A catalog of the city ​​library was dedicated to him and the newly elected councilor Johann Friedrich Bagge for the council election .
