Johann Friedrich Christoph Gräffe

Johann Friedrich Christoph Gräffe (born February 15, 1754 in Göttingen ; † October 27, 1816 there ) was a German Protestant theologian and clergyman .

Life

Gräffe attended the Göttingen grammar school and in 1770 moved to the University of Göttingen , where he studied philology , philosophy and theology until 1775 . After working as a private tutor for a time, he became a hospice at Loccum monastery in 1783 .

From 1784 Gräffe was a country pastor in Obernjesa . The stay in Loccum enabled him to obtain his master's degree in Göttingen and to do his habilitation in 1784 . Then he was a private lecturer in catechetics and Platonic and Kantian philosophy in addition to pastoral care . In 1792 he finally moved back to Göttingen. He became a preacher at the St. Albanikirche and continued to teach at the university.

Gräffe was in 1797 at the University of Helmstedt with the dissertation De natura miraculorum to Dr. theol. PhD . In 1802 he was appointed superintendent in Göttingen and inspector of the royal pastoral institute. In addition, he recently rose to senior position in the Göttingen City Ministry.

He published several magazines, so from 1789 first the newest catechetical magazine , then from 1793 the catechetical journal , and from 1796 the new journal for catechetical and pedagogical .
