Johann Gabriel von der Ketten

Johann Gabriel von der Ketten (* 1673 ; † 1746 ) was a canon at the Collegkirche St. Georg in Cologne , heraldist and genealogist .

Over many years, Johann Gabriel von der Ketten has compiled a very extensive collection of family tables , usually from Cologne patrician and Rhenish noble families . He has supplemented his collection by adding copies from letters of nobility and coat of arms as well as revolts .

The collection is now stored in the historical archive of the city of Cologne , but was also published in 5 volumes between 1983 and 1986, edited by Herbert Schleicher, by the West German Society for Family Studies.

In 1706, on July 18, Johann Gabriel von der Ketten in Vienna received a printing privilege from Joseph I for 12 years for the font The large fruit and flower garden.
