Johann Georg Burgmann

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Johann Georg Burgmann , also Jonas Georg B. (* before 1647 in Greifswald , † after 1672 ) was a German lawyer.

Life

Johann or Jonas Georg Burgmann was the son of Johann Burgmann and Sybilla Lange. He was matriculated with his brother Johann Joachim in Greifswald in 1647 and in Rostock in 1659 . In 1662 he went to Wittenberg to study law. Burgmann received his doctorate in Greifswald in 1664.

In 1667 Burgmann was appointed associate professor at the law faculty in Greifswald. He married the professor's daughter Christina Stypmann, with whom he had five children.

In the dispute over his father's inheritance, Burgmann stole a cash chest from his mother's house by force of arms in 1669 and was therefore suspended from his office by the council. He then probably went to Mecklenburg. In any case, his work Princeps patiens appeared in Rostock in 1672 .

Nothing is known about his further life.
