Johann Georg Fünck

Johann Georg Fünck (also Füncke, Finck, Fink, Funk ; * 1721 in Augsburg , † March 1, 1757 in Kassel ) was a German architect , builder and engraver .

Johann Georg Fünck was trained as a bricklayer and stonemason by his father in Augsburg. In 1741 he went to Berlin , where he worked for Knobelsdorff until 1746 . He created a large part of the execution and inventory drawings for the opera house and was in charge of construction from 1841. He also made plans for the Charlottenburg Palace . In 1746 he entered the service of the later Landgrave Wilhelm VIII of Hesse-Kassel . From 1746 to 1749 he was the site manager of the Wilhelmsthaler Schloss and the associated gardens. From 1749 to 1752 Fünck stayed with Jacques-François Blondel in Paris for study purposes . After his return to Kassel he was appointed agricultural director.
