Johann Georg Sommer

Johann Georg Sommer (born January 26, 1634 in Mellenbach ; † August 21, 1705 in Arnstadt ) was a German doctor, Count's personal physician to Arnstadt and a member of the academy of scholars " Leopoldina ".

Johann Georg Sommer studied medicine with Werner Rolfinck in Jena. He was a provincial doctor in Eisfeld and Königsfeld . Then he advanced to the position of senior physician in Schwarzburg and the Count's personal physician in Arnstadt. On June 18, 1683, Johann Georg Sommer, nicknamed MACHAON II., Was accepted as a member ( matriculation no. 115 ) in the Leopoldina .
