Johann Heinrich Breuning (born July 12, 1650 in Stuttgart , † October 12, 1686 in Tübingen ) was a Württemberg Protestant theologian and university professor.

Live and act

Johann Heinrich Breuning enrolled at the University of Tübingen in 1668 . On August 14, 1672 he became a master's degree and in 1676 a repetition at the Evangelical monastery in Tübingen . He married Katharina Wölfflin (* 1658 in Tübingen; † February 14, 1699 in Rothenburg ob der Tauber ). In 1681 he became a deacon of St. Leonhard in Stuttgart and from 1682 second deacon of the Stuttgart collegiate church . From 1684 to 1686 professor of Protestant theology and the Greek language at the University of Tübingen. His portrait, painted by Johann Dramburg in 1684 , hangs in the Tübingen professors' gallery .
