Johann Heinrich Christoph Matthias Fenner von Fenneberg (born December 25, 1774 in Kirchhain , † December 16, 1849 in Langenschwalbach ) was a German physician and spa doctor and poet .

Life

Fenner von Fenneberg studied medicine in Marburg , became a councilor in 1802, qualified as a professor in 1804 and later became a spa doctor in Schlangenbad and Bad Schwalbach , whose baths, which had decayed after a long period of prosperity, only gained fame again through him. In 1813 he became a secret medical councilor and in 1821 he was ennobled. He wrote numerous writings on the bathing industry, especially on Bad Schwalbach, Schlangenbad and Selters (Taunus) , but also writings on general medicine. From 1799 to 1801 he published the journal Gemeinnüziges Journal on health fountains and baths in Germany , and from 1816 to 1818 the magazine Curgeschenk for fountain and bathers . Together with Heinrich Döring he gave, among other things, the yearbooks of Germany's medicinal springs . Wiesbaden, 1821–1822 (2 volumes).

District Administrator Carl Fenner von Fenneberg was his great-grandson.
