Johann Heinrich Fischer (born May 8, 1735 in Siegburg , † after 1789 ) was a German history and portrait painter of the 18th century .

Painting by Johann Heinrich Fischer. The double portrait shows the builder of the palace Wilhelm Otto Friedrich Reichsgraf von Quadt and Matthieu Soiron or his brother François. In the background, Wickrath Palace with the high palace and the wings of the outer bailey is shown.

The son of the painter Johann Heinrich the Elder from Siegburg belonged to the electoral court workshop in Bonn around 1750 , which was based on the court painter George Desmarées , who worked there until 1761 . Fischer became his successor and was in the service of Cologne Electors Maximilian Friedrich von Königsegg-Rothenfels and Maximilian Franz von Austria from 1762 to 1788 .

Fischer's first surviving work dates from 1754 and is in the Cologne City Museum . It illustrates his style according to the Bonn court workshop. In 1762 he created his portrait of Elector Max Friedrich von Königsegg - Rothenfels and in 1773 he portrayed the builder of Wickrath Castle , Wilhelm Otto Friedrich von Quadt , with his master builder Matthieu Soiron .

This picture was bought by the Otto von Bylandt Society at Sotheby’s auction in 2001 and then presented in Rheydt Castle . Before 1933 it was in Isny .
