Johann III. von Trazegnies (* before 1470 ; † 1550 ) was a Dutch general and councilor, imperial chamberlain of Charles V , captain general of Hainaut , knight of the Order of the Golden Fleece .

He came from the Hamal family and was the son of John II († 1513) von Trazegnies and Sybille de Ligne . He married Isabel von Verkhin in 1513 († September 29, 1559). She was the daughter of Baron Nicolas von Werchin (* 1473; † July 10, 1513), Seneschal of Hainaut, and Yolande of Luxembourg († May 7, 1533) wife of Roubaix . His son Charles († 1578) was married to Maria Magdalena von Palant († 1556).

In 1516 he was awarded the Order of the Golden Fleece. The fleece can also be found on his sarcophagus .

He is buried in the church of St. Martin in Trazegnies , where his sarcophagus with Transi and Gisants of him and his wife has been preserved to this day.

The Marshal of France Gillion-Othon von Trazegnies is one of his descendants . Its sarcophagus - also with the couple's gisants - is also in the church.
