Johann Jacob Kindt-Kiefer
Johann Jacob Kindt-Kiefer (born August 20, 1905 in Dillingen / Saar , † 1978 ) was a German politician , publicist and entrepreneur.
Life
Kindt-Kiefer was born in 1905 as the son of a Protestant working-class family in Saarland. He studied in Berlin and Paris and received his doctorate in humanities in 1936 and also in law three years later . The friendship with the future French Prime Minister Georges Bidault stems from the time of his studies at the Sorbonne . During his exile in Switzerland, he met the daughter of the Swiss manufacturer Hans Kiefer and married her. Since then he has had the double name Kindt-Kiefer. After the end of the war he became a pumice stone manufacturer in Andernach .
Kindt-Kiefer belonged to Wilhelm Hoegner (later Bavarian Prime Minister ), Joseph Wirth (former Reich Chancellor of the Center Party ) and the former Prussian Prime Minister Otto Braun ( SPD ) in the working group "Democratic Germany", which in 1943 drafted a memorandum on the future development of Germany after the war.
Konrad Adenauer used Kindt-Kiefer's contacts to France to discuss political decisions with the French on the Berlin question and the Saar Statute .
