Johann Jakob Lungershausen

Johann Jakob Lungershausen (also Johann Jacob Lungerhausen ; born October 25, 1665 in Dorndorf ; † 1729 in Mühlhausen / Thuringia ) was a German Lutheran theologian , clergyman and university teacher.

Life

Lungershausen was the son of the preacher Johann Valentin Lungershausen. He attended the Roßleben monastery school for over eight years before he began studying philology and theology at the University of Jena , which he initially completed in 1687 when he obtained his master's degree . He then went on a study trip until 1693. In the year of his return he became an adjunct of the philosophical faculty in Jena and gave philosophical and theological lectures. He was also accepted as a candidate for ministry. In 1701 he was given a position as associate professor . He also received a position as a preacher in Jena and the title of ducal Saxon-Weimar and Saxon-Eisenach consistorial and church council .

Lungerhausen followed in 1716 a call as superintendent and school inspector in the imperial city of Mühlhausen. He received the title of a royal British and an electoral Braunschweig-Lüneburg consistorial and church council. Between 1714 and 1717 he also became a doctor of theology doctorate .
