Johann Jakob Späth
Johann Jakob Späth (* 1672 in Regensburg ; † January 4, 1760 there ) was a German organ builder .
life and work
Johann Jakob Späth was born in Regensburg in 1672 and has appeared several times as an organ builder in Regensburg's Protestant churches. He was also active in organ repairs in the Regensburg Poeticum grammar school , in 1732 in the Dreieinigkeitskirche , in 1738 in St. Oswald and in 1740 in the Neupfarrkirche . His proposal for a new organ in the Neupfarrkirche was realized. There he built an organ with 22 registers; this was played for the first time on Midsummer Day 1727. Johann Jakob Späth was the father of Franz Jakob Späth (1714–1786), who became famous as an organ builder and above all as a piano maker.
