Johann Jakob Stamm (theologian)
Johann Jakob Stamm (born September 11, 1910 in Basel , † November 3, 1993 in Wabern near Bern ) was a Swiss Protestant Reformed theologian .
Life
He studied theology in Basel , Neuchâtel NE and Marburg and Assyriology in Leipzig . After graduating as Dr. phil. 1939 in Leipzig with Benno Landsberger and the doctorate to Dr. theol. 1940 in Basel with Walter Baumgartner from 1941 he was lecturer for Hebrew in Basel . In 1949 he switched to a full-time associate professor for "Old Testament and General Religious History" at Ev.theol. Faculty of Bern over (full professor 1950, retirement 1976).
