Johann Jungblut
Johann Jungblut , also Johann Jungbluth (born April 16, 1860 in Saarburg , † December 17, 1912 in Düsseldorf ), was a German landscape painter from the Düsseldorf School .
Life
Jungblut initially worked as a craftsperson at Villeroy & Boch in Mettlach . As an autodidact , he acquired art painting. In 1885 he moved to Düsseldorf, where he seems to have played the role of a loner and lived in the Pempelfort district in 1889 . His son, the later sculptor Emil Jungblut , was born in Düsseldorf in 1888 . The painters Walter (1892–1941) and Hans Jungblut were also his sons.
Jungblut's painting was strongly based on old Dutch models. His specialty were impressionistically painted, foggy winter landscapes on Dutch waters in the low sun. He also often painted Norwegian fjords and other motifs in this way. He drew some of his pictures using the pseudonym J. Sander . It is believed that he could also be behind the pseudonym J. Metzler .
