Novyj Swit (Ukrainian Новий Світ ; Russian Новый Свет / Nowy Swet ) is an urban-type settlement in Donetsk Oblast in eastern Ukraine with about 9,000 inhabitants.

The settlement is in the Donets Basin , about 6 kilometers north of the Rajonshauptstadt Starobesheve and 20 kilometers southeast of Oblastzentrum Donetsk riverside Kalmius and the pent-up here Starobeschewer Reservoir area.

The place was built in 1954 as a workers' settlement for the construction of the Starobeschewe power plant and has had the status of an urban-type settlement since 1956.

As a result of the war in Ukraine , the settlement has been in the hands of pro-Russian separatists since the end of July 2014 .
