Johann Kurz
Johann Kurz (born October 20, 1913 in Wetzleinsdorf , Lower Austria ; † August 6, 1985 in Vienna ) was a Roman Catholic priest and long-time rector of the Archbishop's Seminary in Hollabrunn .
Life
After attending the Stiftsgymnasium Seitenstetten and studying at the University of Vienna , he was ordained a priest on July 11, 1937 . Then he was chaplain in Poysdorf and prefect of studies at the Vienna seminary for two years . In 1943 he joined the oratorio Sanctissimae Trinitatis founded by Friedrich Wessely .
From July 1, 1945 he was spiritual, from October 8, 1946 deputy rector and from October 29, 1947 to 1984 rector of the Archbishop's Seminary in Hollabrunn.
He was responsible for the difficult structure of the seminar after the Second World War and shaped the Hollabrunn boys' seminar through his personality.
Together with Hans Groër , he founded the Hollabrunn secondary school in 1974 .
From 1984 he was Spiritual of the Sisters of Mercy in Vienna- Gumpendorf and Vice-President of the Canisiuswerk .
He is buried in the priestly crypt at the Großrußbach cemetery.
