Johann Leonhard Reuss

Johann Leonhard Reuss (born March 15, 1798 in Frankfurt am Main ; † April 1, 1883 ibid) was a politician of the Free City of Frankfurt .

Johann Leonhard Reuß studied law in Tübingen and Heidelberg after attending grammar school in Frankfurt . During his studies he was Renonce of the Corps Teutonia in Tübingen , before he became one of the founders of the old Tübingen fraternity Arminia / Germania Tübingen in 1816 . He was promoted to Dr. iur. PhD .

After completing his studies, he became a lawyer in 1818 and a council clerk in Frankfurt am Main in 1831. From 1837 to 1849 he was a senator and then from 1849 to 1866 as an alderman in the Senate of the Free City of Frankfurt . He was a member of the Legislative Body from 1829 to 1830, 1832, 1837, 1839 to 1846, 1848 and 1850 to 1856. In 1846 he was the junior mayor. Reuss was a member of the Frankfurt Freemason Lodge Socrates for steadfastness .
