Johann Ludwig I. von Sulz

Johann Ludwig I. von Sulz († 1547 ) was a landgrave, Spanish councilor and governor in Upper Austria from the family of the Counts of Sulz .

Life

Johann Ludwig was the son of Rudolf V von Sulz and Margaretha von Sonnenberg . He built the new Tiengen Castle next to the old castle that was destroyed in the Swiss War . After the Peasants' War he re-fortified the Küssaburg at high costs . In 1530 he married Elisabeth von Zweibrücken-Lichtenberg († March 8, 1575), a daughter of Count Reinhard von Zweibrücken and Herr von Bitsch and Lichtenberg and his wife Anna von Dhaun ; they had three sons:

  • Wilhelm († 1565) ⚭ Cleopha of Baden
  • Rudolf († 1552) ⚭ Maria von Hohenstein
