Johann Nepomuk von Pelkhoven

Johann Nepomuk Freiherr von Pelkhoven (Pelkoven, Pelkofen, Pelkhofen, Pelckhofen) (born January 1, 1763 in Straubing , † July 12, 1830 in Teising ) was a royal Bavarian district school councilor and councilor.

His father was government councilor Johann Nepomuk Freiherr von Pelkhoven and his mother Maria Anna Freiin von Boslarn. From 1783 to 1785 he studied law at the University of Ingolstadt . In 1785 his application to join the civil service was rejected because he was a member of the Illuminati order . Pelkoven's order name was Alcinous. In 1789 he was accepted into the civil service as a councilor.

His first wife Therese Freiin von Geböckh died in 1799 and gave birth to four children. His second marriage in 1801 to Hyacinthe von Spreti (1777-1828) had nine children.

In 1802 he left the civil service and devoted himself to the management of his estates in Wildthurn near Landau an der Isar . 1805-1813 he was often on special missions. In 1818 he was reinstated in the civil service as a district school councilor in Passau . That year he also became a member of the Estates Assembly.

In 1825 he was retired, sold his property in Wildthurn and moved to his smaller estate in Teising. Freiherr von Pelkhoven died in 1830 of inflammation of the liver.
